Caribbean Airlines donate to cancer charity

An airline has announced that it will lend its support to a cancer treatment trust to help cash-strapped patients in the Caribbean.
Caribbean Airlines will be offering all its Caribbean Miles members the opportunity to donate their miles to the Cancer Treatment Foundation and the airline will match every donation made until May 30th.
All contributions to the foundation will be used to help pay for the travel costs of patients in Trinidad and Tobago who are in need of treatment abroad.
Philip Saunders, Caribbean Airlines' chief executive, said: "The miles donation initiative will help several individuals and surely save lives. As an airline we have the unique capacity to bridge distances and support those who are in need."
Brian Lara, chairman of the Cancer Treatment Foundation expressed his gratitude to Caribbean Airlines and Caribbean Miles members for helping the organisation.
Mr Lara said: "Corporations can play a defining role in the fight against cancer and Caribbean Airlines is leading the way in supporting the efforts of cancer patients."
