Atlanta may get tourism boost
Tuesday 13 May 2008
Atlanta, USA, may soon receive a boost to its tourism industry with the introduction of a mini-USA.
Dutch businessmen have come forward with proposals for the attraction, which would include models of buildings from across the country.
If tourism numbers are boosted by the proposed attraction, then anyone with an investment property in the United States of America will be delighted.
"I think this region needs more tourist attractions. Some people think this concept of miniature and the USA don't marry, but we think it can be done, and we think many people will like it," Peter Verdaasdonk, managing director of Madurodam BV, told Global Atlanta.
Mr Verdaasdonk and Eric de Groot, managing director of the Atlanta-based consulting agency Holland America Chamber, said that he expects visitors will be wowed by the attraction.
"Imagine being able to walk from New York to Los Angeles in about 48 minutes," said Mr de Groot.
Many people have been buying investment properties in the United States of America for years.
The US has a varied environment, depending on which part of the country you are in. Plant life in the country is also extremely diverse.
