Albania is confident that it will have joined the European Union within the next ten years.
The governor of the Albanian Central Bank, Ardian Fullani, has revealed that the country aims to apply to join the EU by 2018, reports Bloomberg.
It is good news for anyone considering buying an investment property in Albania as it means the country's economy will be boosted.
"This will happen in the next ten years, for sure," said Mr Fullani in an interview at the UK Albania Investment Forum in London.
"Albania has this commitment and is going in the right direction to be a membership candidate," he added.
Many people choose to buy an investment property in Albania as they see the future potential of their investments.
The economy is growing and looks set to continue to do so in the years to come.
The country is also a popular tourist destination, with foreign visitors particularly attracted to Apollonia, Butrinti, and Kruje.
