Friday 09 May 2008
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has bought a multimillion-pound ranch in Colorado.
The Russian billionaire clearly sees the investment potential in the region and splashed out $36.3 million (£18.6 million) on the property.
The move may encourage more people to buy investment properties in Colorado.
Abramovich spent $11.8 million (£6 million) on another property in February and he now owns a number of properties in Colorado with an estimated value of around $50 million (£25.6 million).
He bought the latest property from surgical equipment tycoon Leon Hirsch, reports the Wall Street Journal.
Many people choose to buy investment properties in Colorado as it is home to some breathtaking scenery.
Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is one such attraction. The massive canyon stretches for 48 miles, 12 of which are in the park.
It gets its name from the fact that it is so steep that sunlight does not travel very far into it, giving the walls a black appearance as they are almost constantly in shadow.
