Demand for Brazilian property 'high'

Brazil is attracting sustained attention from foreign property buyers, an industry expert has claimed.

Richard Way, editor of A Place in the Sun magazine, selected the South American country as an example of a market that is proving popular with people from overseas despite of the current economic situation.

He explained that this is because of the attractive lifestyle it offers residents - which includes a relaxed way of life, a tropical climate and many high-quality beaches.

Brazil is also growing in stature among people looking to buy purely for investment reasons due to its strong potential for capital growth in both the short- and long-term.

"It's a good lifestyle purchase because you're getting everything you get in the Caribbean and those kinds of places; good year-round sun, fantastic beaches and a laidback lifestyle," Mr Way suggested.

"As far as prices go, last year they reckon Brazilian property prices rose between ten and 15 per cent. I'm sure that if you look at the long-term it would be a good investment."

The BuyAssociation claims that British investors are attracted to Brazil because of its diverse landscape, rich culture and affordability. It estimates that the cost of living in the country is just 20 per cent of the UK's.
