Whilst a number of investors are reassured by the fact that Spain is home to many Brits, one new report suggests that others are concerned about the number of ex-pats living there.
According to a survey by GE Money Home Lending, some investors are keen to explore further afield than Spain but 40 per cent of mortgage advisors still view the country as the best long-term investment.
Gerry Bell, British Mortgages Abroad, GE Money Home Lending, said: "Many are attracted to [Spain] because they know others who have settled there or are familiar with the destination, others see it as a good long-term investment or simply enjoy the climate and culture."
Overall, Spain remains the most popular destination for those looking to buy abroad. GE Money Home Lending's research showed that its good climate, cheap travel and bargain property prices as the main incentives for people wanting to move there.
For those planning to invest and move to their new property, some 36 per cent claimed they would consider buying a property in Spain because of the climate. |
