A growing number of overseas property buyers are choosing to live in Spain because of the lifestyle attractions that it offers, a new study has revealed.
Research from self-catering vacation specialist Holiday-Rentals.co.uk revealed that leisure facilities are one of the main factors informing peoples' decisions to live abroad.
It revealed that securing access to these facilities was "key motivation" for the purchase of property by two thirds of all second home owners.
The companies explained that this desire on the part of second home owners helps to explain the continuing popularity of the Spanish property market. According to its figures, 31 per cent of all British-owned residences in Europe are situated in Spain.
Greg Grant, managing director of Holiday-Rentals.co.uk, commented: "We expect to see continued growth in the holiday home rentals market, both in terms of supply and demand."
Recently, insurance firm Zurich advised people with property in Spain and other overseas countries to ensure that they have insurance cover for any belongings that they leave abroad. |
